After years of intense training PB Products boss Piet Vogel, aka Birdy, and his wife Esther were blessed on Wednesday august 22 with a beautiful daughter Suzanne. Little Birdy Suzanne is a peach of a girl and she weights 3300gr.
Mother and daughter, and of course the happy dad, are fine.

Ronny has spent a week fishing for Siluris Glanis on the Spanish Ebro river system. It was a hard session with many difficulties. Thousands small bloodsucking black vampire flies, strong winds, a tremendous amount of drift weed, high temperatures and a moody catfish population made that it wasn’t one of these red letters sessions. But with a spirit of ‘the game isn’t over until the fat lady sings’ Ronny and his friends fought back. As soon as they took over a ‘weed less’ swim from Rons good friend Gary Allen they started to catch fish.
The first Siluris could even have been a new PB catfish( lengthwise) for Ronny if he hadn’t handed over his rod to 16 years old Laurent. As the kid still hadn’t caught a catfish until that day (July 6th, 2007)Ronny and his friends obeyed Laurent to play this obviously big and strong fish. Young Laurent acted like a real pro and very soon his challenger turned out to be one of the Ebro giants. With a length of 235cm( 2 cm more than Rons longest catfish ever) and a weight of 163lb(74kg) Laurent enters the catfish world in a very big style.

‘Den Grooten’, the former Belgian record carp( caught in January 1995)
was until Sunday May 28, 2007 the heaviest( 33.8kg -74lbs+) and the longest ( 109cm) carp Ronny had ever caught.

During a carp session on a 4000ha+( 9000acres+) volcanic lake in Italy
Ronny broke this( for him) long lasting length record.

Ronny estimated this Italian giant at 115cm+. While checking pictures
from previous catches from this lake our man found out that one of his
friends had caught the same carp two years previously. Marco Fiorucci,
Ronny’s friend, confirmed the length at 118cm.

Weighting 29.3kg(64lbs+) is it the third heaviest carp on Ronny’s list.
So far as we know is Ronny only the second angler in the history of
modern carp angling that has caught a 60lbs+( 27kg+) carp from three
different countries.

Ronny tamed this beauty on a 12’ 3 1/2lbs Century NG rod,
a size 2 Super Strong PB hook and on a 15cm long 35lbs X Stiff Green
Hornet PB Products hook link.

This giant carp could not resist a 20mm Dynamite Baits Fresh Fish
pop-up fished over a carpet of  20 and 26mm Fresh Fish boilies. It was
only the second session Ronny fished with this new and exciting Bait.

It has been known for a few months that leading European
carp end tackle company PB Products and Ronny De Groote
have been communicating about working together. Both parties
have known each other since the mid nineties and their
cooperation will officially starts on April 1st, 2007.

Ronny says:’ If I remember correctly I met the PB boys for
the very first time at the French lake Foret D’Orient on
June 25th, 1994. This was the day Philippe Albert scored the winning
goal for the Red Devils( Belgiums National Soccer Team) against
Holland at the World Cup 1994 in America. Normally the Dutch team
has always been much better then the Belgian one, but on the most
important moments we have always played them a nasty trick.
Piet Vogel and Bertus Wagener, together with Henk Van Berkel the
directors of PB Products, could cope with my malicious enjoyment
and even today we still have a laugh about it. God bless them!
This must also have been the period that the company set its first steps
in the tackle trade. During the following years Piet, Henk and Bertus
would turn PB Products into a successful company that develops
top quality mainlines, braids, hooks, hook link materials etc. At this
moment it is certainly one of the major players at the European carp
end tackle scene.
Knowing that their major concerns are the quality of their products
and customer satisfaction, it is a very professional team and  it is great
 for me that I have connected my name with the company. I am really
looking forward to the years to come.’

Do the leakage test for yourself
